Yes. LinkedIn posts, Reddit threads, YouTube videos, Instagram posts, TikToks, and other social content appear in ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and similar tools, both as linked citations and as unattributed source material.
YouTube shows up especially often, because as a Google product it is indexed aggressively and regularly structured as questions with answers, which is close to what these systems are looking for.
Social content has a much longer tail than the platform’s own feed suggests, since a post can surface in an AI answer months after its engagement died. And a competitor’s forum thread or an old complaint can be feeding AI answers about your company right now, whether or not you have ever posted anything. That is worth measuring rather than assuming.
