10 Inspirational Interior Design Trends for 2024 That Will Put a Skip in Your Graphic Design Step.

I once read the book “Steal Like an Artist” (which I highly recommend checking out if you haven’t already!), and every time I am stuck in a design funk, this section comes to mind: Diversify Your Circle. Although the author is talking about diversity in social circles (i.e. garnering inspiration from individuals not in your own line of work), this also applies to diversity in sources of design inspiration. Design inspiration is everywhere. Today, I want to look at a creative field that mirrors that of graphic design — namely, interior design in homes and commercial spaces.

Interior design trends for this year run the gamut. While some call for calming minimalistic design, others are going the complete opposite direction with over-the-top maximalism. Similarly, our clients have drastically varying design styles, and our goal is to match their needs with exactitude. I’m going to break this down into two categories: Earthly & Soft and Bold & Colorful.

Let’s get into it!

1. CURVES

Say goodbye to angular, geometric shapes!

There are a lot of curves playing out in interior design right now. Curved sofas with rounded corners. Waterfall corners on desks. Scalloped edges on rugs and coffee tables.

3. GREEN SHADES

Pantone might have chosen “Very Peri” for their color of the year, but Benjamin Moore, Sherwin-Willams, PPG and Behr all chose green as their 2022 color of the year. Warm muted tones of green: olive, sage, and eucalyptus.

The top trend in the 2022 Pinterest Report was biophilic design. Biophilic design can be described as when nature is built into your house.

Vaporwave is the mixing of 1980s and 1990s in electronic music but also used in describing this arcade-game type of interior design. In design, it is a combination of retro elements and bright colors.
